The UK government is preparing to extend Palantir Technologies' (PLTR) 330 million pound ($444.3 million) contract to run the National Health Service's Federated Data Platform, the Financial Times reported Thursday, citing several people familiar with the matter.
Despite mounting political pressure, a government review determined that removing Palantir from NHS data systems would be too disruptive, the report said, citing the people.
Instead, ministers plan to launch a new procurement process, which would pave the way for Palantir to be dropped in two years, the report said.
The plan is expected to be formally signed off on "shortly," the report said.
Palantir and NHS didn't immediately reply to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
