I'm becoming more and more intrigued by Palantirs strategy of equity stake in future go to market companies...While the specifics of cash investment haven't been announced...I'd be interested to learn about how much of their investment is through "free" or limited cost for Foundry in exchange for equity in the business...No different perhaps than a App Developer taking equity stake in a startup in exchange for a % of future revenue vs having that startup pay them cash for services...For Palantir this would be a low cost entry into potential significant revenue flows from a variety of different companies in different verticals that they clearly feel have great potential for future success...Notice all of these investments are with companies that have an eye towards the future...Palantir (especially Thiel) has a keen eye for predictions on where things will be 5-10 years from now...Thiel has proven this many times not only in the companies he's founded but in his public speakings on a variety of topics...
Providing software at the scale they've now reached is a low cost give from Palantir but it could reap huge rewards...Why? First, they could be investing in entities that have massive upside...Second, the sheer advantage these entities will have in their fields by using Foundry from Day 1 could prove pivotal towards their success. Third, success is step one and profits is step two and Foundry has proven over and over again to reap huge returns on investment for commercial customers...Could lead to profitability far sooner for these entities due to having luxury of Foundry from Day 1...I think this might be an absolutely brilliant strategy and one that right now is not remotely a blip on anyones radar...I've said it before and I'll say it again...These guys are the BEST of the BEST...I'm riding with them on the perceived value they see in these investments...
All the best to longs and the board weasels can eat a fat one... $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$
