A buyout will not 'include' the debt payoff. You pay whatever for the company - to its owners - and inherit the debt, which you can decide to payoff after that if you want. The Glaciers wont care a toss about what happens to the debt (it was they who built it up after all). Similarly, giving money to 'the community' is not likely to influence the seller; it might do had the club been private ... it looks like the real mistake was selling it to the Glaciers in the first place! $Manchester United PLC(MANU)$
