With all the controversy, of which 100% is assumptions, including my own, surrounding the need for a 1 for 90 consolidation, the reason that makes the most sense is the need to absorb the dilution that's coming. What's causing so much jitters among investors is the 'fact' the company directors will not give 'any' clarification specifically related to that number. They don't need to price the shares at $100.00 per to obtain institutional investors, which is where they would have been no later than mid summer, pre split, without any vehicles on the road.
The other matter of delaying the launch to coincide with the schedule of the next financials, is too convenient. They couldn't say it was a straight-up safety issue or technical problem because the revelation of either would have tanked the stock on its own. By combining the two and calling it a safety issue with a piece of technical equipment, pretty much got investors to shrug it off as a kink to be ironed out. Whoever came up with that idea will surely be granted some options. Maybe the financials are going to need a distraction and what better than a launch?
They are definately hiding something and the result is culminating to a lot of speculation. This is what happens when you are not up front with people who invest in you. They start to lose trust. The faithful will stay, but that doesn't mean they trust you, only that they've pledged to stay with you. If people start losing faith, things could get really nasty here. $Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc.(FFIE)$
