they are trying to pull down SIA share price so they can buy it cheap and get dividends while they are trying to mislead small investors like us to buy ST engineering and SATS so they can sell at a better price. basically, the analyst's view is juat disinformation to trick other investors for the banks' benefit

There is no prop desk at DBS so they don’t buy for themselves. The major shareholder which you see on annual reports as DBS is them as custodian, their shares dont belong to them but their clients as they provided custodian services to retail and institutions as well.

Personally i see more upside potential then the downside. This is more than a years time horizon view. They still have outstanding 50% of the MCB issued during covid and that will cause a share overhang. The reason for the recent rally was also due to the company redeeming part of the MCB. I am expecting SIA to redeem the remaining MCB in 2024 and that will cause the share price to rally again. Moreover, competitors have also shrink routes during covid and SIA may be able to capitalised on these routes too. But current valuation looks stretched. But if you are holding more than a year, i would say continue to hold. I had SIA prior to covid at higher prices. But during the rights issue in 2020, i exercised the rights and bought them at $3 a piece and breakeven would have gone down to around $5. So most probably, all SIA shareholders at this moment are sitting on profits.
