[Miser]Hello Tigers,

The once-anticipated "Golden Nine and Silver Ten" market for U.S. stocks did not materialize as expected this year. The $S&P 500(.SPX)$ set a record for its longest monthly losing streak since March 2020.

As of the close on October 31, the performances of popular stock markets in October are as follows: $S&P 500(.SPX)$ , $DJIA(.DJI)$ , $NASDAQ(.IXIC)$ , $Straits Times Index(STI.SI)$ , $S&P/ASX 200(XJO.AU)$

Among them, the performance of each sector of $S&P 500(.SPX)$ is as follows:

The strongest performer in October was the utility sector, of which $NextEra(NEE)$ and $Southern(SO)$ , which have the largest market capitalization, rose 11.7% and 7.32% respectively.

The top three sectors with an overall sector increase of >10% year-to-date are communication services, technology sector and cyclical consumption sector. As Thanksgiving and Christmas continue at the end of the year, technology stocks have experienced a certain degree of correction. These three sectors may still have a high probability of maintaining top performance.

From a detailed perspective of individual stocks, among the $S&P 500(.SPX)$ constituent stocks, the top ten best-performing stocks in October were: $Gap(GPS)$ , $Allstate(ALL)$ , $Raytheon Technologies Corporation(RTX)$ , $Progressive(PGR)$ , $Dollar General(DG)$ , $NRG Energy Inc(NRG)$ $General Dynamics Corp(GD)$ $Netflix(NFLX)$ , $Arista Networks(ANET)$ (Two insurance companies, two defense and military companies, and several technology companies and resource companies.)

Overview of monthly performance of other stocks in October:

Among large-cap technology stocks, the stocks that maintain positive returns are $Microsoft(MSFT)$ , $UnitedHealth(UNH)$ , $Eli Lilly(LLY)$ , $Wal-Mart(WMT)$ , $Visa(V)$

As of October, many stocks have been correcting for three consecutive months, giving up their previous profit gains. Therefore, November, which has always been the best month to buy stocks in the eyes of foreign media and history, has become particularly critical.

Looking ahead to November, this week’s U.S. ADP employment numbers, manufacturing PMI, the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy statement, U.S. initial jobless claims for the week, U.S. unemployment rate and other data will continue to affect market fluctuations.
