If you listen to the $XPeng Inc.(XPEV)$ earnings QA. If they didn't have to take a write down for the G3i their gross margins would have been neutral. They are managing cost vs scaling units better than $NIO. And are managing street expectations better - say what they do and do what they say.
People keep wondering why XPEV stock is out performing $NIO Inc.(NIO)$ & part of it I believe is the two reasons I provided above. Now they have other moats they are developing but in the short term they I believe will hit positive cash faster. I'm long both so this isn't me bashing Nio.
