An ex-Google, $Alphabet(GOOG)$
There are key players (amongst top government cabinets from a few countries) that have sank their teeth into these FAANG companies.
Initially, it wasn’t awful as they came as “investors”.
However, they’ve had more and more say about their products over the past decade+, which has been counterintuitive to what most people would consider as “logical”. Plus, as time has progressed, more government layers have been integrated into the company’s SOP.
Sometimes the pay helps overlook what they’re being asked to do, but it takes a mental toll. I suspect the ex-employee is here, or they just got let go and jumped to their own conclusion.
The companies know what they’re doing is not in the best interest of consumers, but they’re too far deep to back out and say “No, we’re not doing that.”
And, it’s only going to get worse the more their services are depended on.
