Deficit Worries? Are Republicans really worried? Are Democrats really willing to work to reduce it? Imagine if the bipartian Boles-Simpson Plan had passed Congress. It would have reduced military spending and we would have had several Peace Dividends, growth for the sake of growth wouldn't be so cancerous with climate change, and medicaid and medicine would have been reduced to a level prevention of many illnesses would have sided us more with being at the top of healthy nations not near the bottom and paying the most. And S.S. would be well funded.

But Repbulicans pledged not to raise taxes, went along with wars, blank checks to Israel and others, and still raise want to sound the alarms. Alarms when it might gain them back seats in government and not when Trump and others intimidate this FED chief to get rates to near 0% but with no payment down on debt but instead more tax cuts to the already wealthy and fossil fuel give aways and gutting of regulations that will cost us more to recover from. Two parties with Citizens United turning America slowly into a state of Corporate Socialism where all real costs like destroyed health and commons will take more and more of our money to cure if possible. My guess is we will take it more to the edge in about 10 to 20 years before people say Enough and the blank checks and mad war spending is curtailed. Before then i hope another Simpson-Boles like plan gains traction and most of the debt owed to us Americans.
