Dividends collected in 2023

Been using TigerBrokers since they first started way back during COVID-19 and it kinda of sparked my dividend investing journey since then.

I’m big on dividends because it provides me with a passive stream of income that I can use to reinvest and compound my money.

If you are looking to start investing but not sure what or how, investing in dividends might be a potential way for you to get started!

So in 2022, I collected a total of $589.50 in dividends over 12 months, which means I get an extra ~$50 per month to reinvest into my portfolio.

This might not be a lot but when the amount is compounded, this will grow to a larger sum. Because the $50 is reinvested into more dividends stocks that will give me more dividends.

In 2023, I managed to grow my dividend collected by a small 5%. Which isn’t a lot but it’s a good growth accounting that inflation is 6%, I’m very very close to beating inflation just with my dividends.

You might notice some slight difference in the dividends collected every month because i did some rebalancing of my portfolio to remove duplicate stocks that $Invesco S&P 500 High Dividend Low Volatility ETF(SPHD)$ already has in its holding. This reduces the risk that I have by holding too many stocks.

2023 has been a good year and hopefully, in 2024, I can increase the dividend collected to somewhere closer to $1,000, which will allow me to compound my money at a faster pace and reach financial freedom, which will allow me to do what I enjoy in life!
