How do you sleep 😴?

Interesting topic, interesting position analogy. I have included a few images of my own to add to the conversation of sleep Vs investing/trading.

First thing first, I note with interest that the first sleeping posture is attributed to investors while the rest to traders. Quite obviously, the image creator has differentiated investors from the perceptively higher risk-taking traders.

Looking at the first image I have attached below. I understand exactly what a scalper gone through... Especially if you don't have a trading plan! I was trained to be one in my FX days... It is fun, it is exciting, it is painful... And obviously you DON'T WANT TO SLEEP through a trade! I remember making a thousand and happily shutting down system to go home. Only to realise the following day that the trade had turned and was stopped out. I lost hundreds just for that trade.

I would like to believe that I am a long term non-sleep losing investor. Indeed, my best sleep posture is lying on my back, with little or no tossing. I could even slept through the night on a armchair without any problem (Oh yes, I have tried that for a year! 🤣)

In the early days of stock trading, I do have sleepless nights. It is an on and off experience. The tendency to follow a trade is just too high. If the trading hours happened to be office hours, and I have been considering to take loss or enter a position, I might ended up checking my handphone frequently. If the trades happened overnight, I might take some hours to follow a trade.

Gradually, with more losses and experience along the way, sleeping and investing no longer compete. I do as much research as I could and plan a trade... Then trade the plan... So that I could lie peacefully on my back whenever I need or want to...

The 2nd and 3rd charts are just for reference. No matter how the charts continue, have a plan... And trade the plan... Good night! Sleep tight... [Cool]

Have you ever lost sleep over stock trading?
It is said that different types of investors have different sleeping postures. Regular investors sleep on their backs, seemingly enjoying good sleep quality. Pro traders sleep face down, possibly because they are wiping tears with their pillow. No stop-loss traders cannot fall asleep. ---------------------------------- Have you ever lost sleep because of stock trading? Share your experience with us to win rewards! 🎁
