I think everyone need to understand both $Alphabet(GOOG)$  $Apple(AAPL)$  are Both Giant Tech Companies. Both have their own hidden agenda, motives As well As their Big Ego. For two giant to cooperate together, there must be a massive gain for both parties to accept the deal. Personally my take is, as long as they willing to discuss, the chance is there. I will not take non confirmation agreement and bet on the news where it will be married. The risk is just too high, I would rather stay on the side lines as tech stocks at the moment are having high valuations, and the risk of market correction is higher than market advancement. Having said, it doesn't means you can't make money out of the the market, as long as there is volaitity, there are money to be made. But what I prefer is to take a step back, cool down, and let the market settle down before taking the next advancement. The risk will be significantly lower vs betting big on the outcome which might not be a good idea provided your risk profile is on the very aggressive side. Good Luck and hope everyone able to make good money from the market.
