Since reopening last year, New Jiangzhou Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. has won its first new foreign shipbuilding order. The shipyard, formerly known as Jiangzhou United Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., reached an agreement with Dutch inland shipping company Mercurius Shipping to return to the European chemical carrier market to build 4 double-decker stainless steel ships with a length of 135 meters. New Jiangzhou Shipbuilding Industry did not disclose further details of the new order. The shipyard is located in Jiangxi Province and has previously delivered 15 16,500 DWT chemical tankers to Bess Group and Sloman Neptun Group. However, due to financial difficulties, the shipyard suspended operations in 2018 and was taken over by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group.
