SPACE ROCKET
04-13

Back in 2022 when I first started trading on the US market, I was one of the many who 'donated' money to the stock market grudgingly and reluctantly lololol.

In 2023, I got inspired by my spouse's monthly small wins and was motivated to turn my account around instead of leaving it in the reds. I devised a system for myself and eventually managed to more than recoup my losses, including a $20,000 loss in $Sono Group N.V.(SEV)$ when it got delisted.

Trading has been a roller coaster journey for me; there are ups and downs. I can earn as much as $10,000 a day and lose as much as $8,000 a day. As much as I feel like giving up on bad days, thinking I suck at investing and trading... I try to bounce out of it eventually,  telling myself not to give up on my 'baby' and to continue building my portfolio up. Believe it or not, I hit a milestone I set for myself 4 TIMES before falling back down, and now I'm on my 5th time up to that milestone once more.

Today, although I may be trading better than 99% of the users on Tiger Platform, I am still learning to be a better trader. And I implore you guys to never give up and to keep moving forward. Even if it's just a tiny bit. As long as your portfolio is better than a month before, better than a year before, even if the profits are not astronomical, it doesn't matter as long as you're going forward with your tiny wins. πŸ«ΆπŸ™Œ

Leave emotions out of investing, be brave and never give up. Learn to take losses at times, learn not to be FOMO, learn to protect your portfolio by staying out when you need to. It is okay. πŸ™ŒπŸ«Ά

April has been a rather volatile month and that affected the way I trade and my earnings as I try to be more cautious ⚠️ ⚠️ πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

Sending positivity and love to Tigers out there who feel lost and depressed.

Are You The One Who Give Away Money in Stock Market?
In the stock market, there are always winners and losers. But it seems like I'm the only one who's constantly giving away money. Have you ever experienced something like this? Do you feel like you're giving away money to others in the stock market? Are you a numerator or a denominator in the stock market?

Did you use Tiger broker to stop loss as well? Don't know which function good.. The trailing stop loss or the oco feature.
    • SPACE ROCKETReplyPhoenixBee:Β
Yes, I believe a gap down will trigger your stop loss immediately when market opens.
    • PhoenixBeeReplySPACE ROCKET:Β
Yup.. That's the one but if gap down, still can trigger the stop loss? πŸ˜‚
    • SPACE ROCKET:Β
Hence, stop loss function may not be suitable for crypto stocks with drastic movements, because if you take the loss on every stock every time it falls 5% (like what some of my friends do), you're not giving your portfolio a chance to recover and may end up more in the reds.
    • SPACE ROCKET:Β
However, I have not used the stop loss function yet because I would rather monitor my trades myself. Crypto stocks swing wildly. They can drop 5% when market opens and rebound 20% up.
    • SPACE ROCKET:Β
Stop loss function is for those who have no time to monitor or set strict rules for themselves like e.g 10% up, they take profit, 5% down, they stop loss.

I learnt alot from you in riot and cleanspark. However, bought my mara at 26 and currently at 15.
    • SPACE ROCKETReplySPACE ROCKET:Β
I'm looking to re-enter MARA and CLSK at about $9-$11, not sure if it will go back down to that price even. Too much uncertainty ahead...
    • PhoenixBeeReplySPACE ROCKET:Β
Yup.. That's what I am thinking to do.
    • SPACE ROCKET:Β
Great that you managed to lower your average on MARA! What I'd do now is to sell weekly covered calls on MARA, till:
1)it gets called away at a price that you're satisfied
2)price rise back up for you to profit
3)earn enough from covered calls such that you breakeven selling below your buy price

Do you trade on Tqqq or sqqq? Straddle and strangle you know how to use?
    • SPACE ROCKET:Β
However, when you buy SQQQ, should your predictions on the market be wrong, you're only having a paper loss by the amount it drops from your buy price.
    • SPACE ROCKET:Β
      - Roll if I think it will rebound short term (for sell put) or will drop short term (for sell call)
      - Buy back at a loss assuming I don't see the above situation happening any time soon.
    • SPACE ROCKETReplyPhoenixBee:Β
So far, I never had to do anything for my straddles. If breached, I may take the following actions depending on market conditions and sentiments.
    • SPACE ROCKETReplyPhoenixBee:Β
Because the danger to shorting is limitless. Say you short a stock, and you suay suay fell asleep. Wake up that time the stock rose drastically. Your loss, should you buy back, is going to be massive.
    • SPACE ROCKETReplySPACE ROCKET:Β
Using MARA as an example. Say you expect MARA to trade between $16 and $20, you may wish to sell puts at $14 and calls at $22. As long as MARA don't rise or drop enough to breach your Strangle prices, the money is yours to keep.
