$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ Tesla sold significantly fewer China-made vehicles in April. The US electric vehicle (EV) maker sold 62,167 China-made vehicles in April, according to data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
Those monthly sales, which include exports from China to overseas markets, were down 18.03 percent from 75,842 a year ago, and down 30.20 percent from 89,064 in March, and slightly higher than the 60,365, vehicles in February.Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio Inc is reportedly set to introduce a new model aimed at the mass market by the end of this month, along with a smaller EV to be marketed in Europe next year for under $30,000.
