Tesla Achieving Level 5 Autonomy Will Be A ChatGPT Moment

Tesla is so tantalizingly close, but it's not quite a driverless car yet.

Fundamentally, a foundation model should be able to drive a car only using cameras (vision). The only question is whether it can do so with zero interventions.

With AI, the last-mile problem is almost impossible to solve. For example, we have made our LLM apps and AI agents 99% accurate, but getting even a 0.1% lift from there becomes insanely difficult.

Tesla must be more than 99.99% accurate to avoid needing a driver or a steering wheel. If anyone can do it, it's Elon and Tesla—they have the training data, the insane work ethic, and infinite grit!

If they get there, the world will change more than when ChatGPT was launched.

Mass-market autonomy will change everything, including the population densities of our cities.
