Nigerian authorities have dropped tax charges against Binance executives Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla, but the pair still face money laundering charges from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), with court dates set for June 19-20.

Gambaryan's family has denounced the remaining charges as "bogus" and highlighted his deteriorating health, including malaria and pneumonia.

Despite a court order for medical attention, prison authorities delayed his hospital visit and withheld medical information.

Binance praised the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) for dropping the tax charges and reiterated that Gambaryan is not a decision-maker at the company.

U.S. lawmakers and former federal prosecutors have called for Gambaryan's release, citing his wrongful detention.
