Carnaby Resources announced a new copper discovery at the Greater Duchess Copper Gold Project in Mt Isa, Queensland.
The highlight of this discovery is the Mohawk prospect, situated 1.5km southeast of Mount Hope, showcasing geological potential.
A ground electromagnetic survey revealed a robust conductor, with a modelled conductor plate measuring 200m x 60m, starting at 100m below the surface.
Assay results from the initial costean recorded 10m at 1.63% Cu, including a higher-grade interval of 6m at 2.33% Cu.
Rob Watkins stated, "The discovery of undrilled outcropping high-grade lode copper mineralisation over at least 150m of strike at Mohawk coincident with a very large and strong Ground EM conductor is extremely exciting."
He further emphasised the significance of this discovery in the broader Mount Hope region, highlighting its underexplored nature and substantial surface geochemical footprint.
Surface mapping and sampling efforts have identified a strike of copper mineralisation extending over 150m at Mohawk, with outcropping readings showing up to 35.8% Cu.
The discovery has not seen any drilling, indicating a fresh and untapped potential for exploration.
Carnaby Resources plans to initiate a major reverse circulation drilling program targeting the open pit mineral resource growth at Greater Duchess, including the new Mohawk discovery.
With a planned start in mid-September for an aerial versatile time domain electromagnetic survey at regional targets, the company's exploration efforts are poised to expand further in the coming months.
Carnaby Resources is an exploration and development company focused on copper and gold projects in the Mount Isa Inlier of Queensland, Pilbara's Mallina Basin, and Yilgarn Margin of Western Australia.
