$SUPER MICRO COMPUTER INC(SMCI)$ Did you ever notice how outrageous the analyst ratings are? Two analysts significantly lowered their SMCI target prices but did not lower their recommendation to "sell". If they really think the price will drop to $350 (or whatever), why did they downgrade from "buy" to "hold" and not to "sell"? Even the most pessimistic of the analysts are still at "hold" (or "equal weight").

As long as I'm complaining...

If the analysts are so smart, why do they follow each other around like lemmings? No one predicts the price drops until after they happen. And then they just tell us what we already know. When SMCI goes back up, there will be no analysts who tells you that until after you already know.

And then there's the nonsense of treating earnings that match expectations as a failure. If analysts really think is it only good news when a company beats estimates by a big margin, then they should have estimated higher in the first place. They all know the game they are playing, but they refuse to acknowledge that it's a game.

It's all so outrageous.
