Mid-Autum festival, đ [Happy]I remember when I was young my grandma [Happy]would prepare many offerings [Great] [Great] [Happy] đ and get ready for a praying ritual at midnight....
It is a very elaborate ritual to celebrate the occasion. Many family does this, depending on which ethnic clan they belong to. They will have some variation in how this is carried out.
Mine is Teochew, if I remember correctly, she will tie some sugarcane ( the whole plant , with leaves and roots) on both sides of the door, then place all the offerings on the table with a special table cloth designed for this purpose in front of the door.
Then wait for midnight to start the ritual. While she is doing this my brother and I would go play around the neighborhood with other children with our make shift lanterns and all.
It was definitely a sweet time to recollect the carefree days of yesterday.. @bernie_sg ; @koolgal @bumpy @twisty @jazzyxx @Tiger_Contra @CareyDunlop @jigglyp @zippy1 @snixee
