$Intel(INTC)$ Except over the past decade Intel has spent about $15B/year on R&D. This far outpaces their competition and is more than NVDA $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ and TSMC $Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$ combined. They have made some very bad decisions which has delayed moving that R&D into the marketplace, but they are quickly getting things back on track and starting to ship products and new silicon processes on time. The current product stack is excellent and the prognosis for products over the next year or two is very good.
