As of November 2024, MicroStrategy holds the largest amount of Bitcoin among publicly traded companies, with approximately 331,200 BTC, valued at around $30 billion.  This significant accumulation reflects MicroStrategy’s strategic decision to adopt Bitcoin as its primary treasury reserve asset, a move initiated in 2020 under the leadership of Executive Chairman Michael Saylor.

Other notable corporate Bitcoin holders include:

• Grayscale Bitcoin Trust: Manages one of the largest Bitcoin funds, holding about 643,572 BTC, which accounts for approximately 3% of all Bitcoin currently available. 

• Marathon Digital Holdings: A prominent Bitcoin mining company with 17,631 BTC in its corporate treasury, valued at around $1.23 billion as of May 2024. 

• Tesla: Holds approximately 10,725 BTC, valued at about $1 billion, following its $1.5 billion investment in Bitcoin announced in early 2021.

These holdings underscore the growing trend of corporations integrating Bitcoin into their financial strategies, reflecting a broader acceptance of cryptocurrency in the corporate sector.

Bitcoin holder MicroStrategy shares plummet
The stock price of Bitcoin holder MicroStrategy plummeted 17% on November 22, and the stock price has risen by more than 500% this year. Citron Research has taken new short action on the stock, believing its valuation is overheated. MicroStrategy is the world's largest corporate Bitcoin holder, holding more than 331,200 Bitcoin.
