$GRAB

HOLY CRAP

GRAB IS HAVING THEIR FIRST EVER PRODUCT DAY EVENT

JUST ANNOUNCED FOR APRIL 8TH

Okay, to me this is a pretty big deal…

Here’s why:

Grab is a company with MASSIVE potential. I did a deep dive on them that I will link below, but my conviction is fully built and now it’s a question of their execution vs their fundamentals.

However, the stock has been in the gutter for the past 4 years.

I am calling a bottom.

Why? I think the company is finally ready to change their narrative. If they do, I don’t think we see these prices forever.

We already know one major narrative changing event that potentially is in the works for 2025:

The acquisition of GoTo, their largest Indonesian rival which deeply hurts their margins in ride hailing and food deliveries.

Multiple sources have reported in the past few months that there are serious discussions to acquire them, with the latest report from Bloomberg claiming that $GRAB is getting ready to take out a $2B loan.

Who takes out a $2B loan when they already have $6B in cash unless they are getting ready to spend on something that requires a big cash pile? The acquisition, if went through, would be a game changer for margins and solidify their presence as the core brand for deliveries and ride hailing in Southeast Asia.

Financial services is also a gem in the business that is growing 35%, attracting millions of under-banked users, and will have strong margins as they approach profitability.

Now…we have the announcement of Grab’s first ever product day.

I’ve been through this a couple of times with $PLTR & $HOOD — Palantir with AIPCon and Robinhood with their Gold Event. Usually, when companies begin showing off their new products to the public, it’s because they are feeling VERY confident in communicating their narrative and actually WANT the publicity because they believe their is an asymmetric opportunity for them to capture mindshare with the general public.

If $GRAB is serious about changing the narrative around their stock, this type of a product day is necessary to show the world that they are ready to dominate. If it goes well, I imagine they will do more product days in the future — holding themselves to a standard of showing off new products to the public and committing to a strict standard of R&D + product velocity.

No idea how this event goes but excited as a shareholder for the company, potentially, beginning to change their narrative.
