Been hearing people start talking up delisting of Chinese ADRs after Trump's rare earth tantrum. I'm not worried about China ADR delisting threats.
Why? Because this would only backfire on the U.S.
Chinese ADRs, includiing the ETFs that hold them, now have a combined market capitalization of almost US$2 trillion. Many of these ADRs are also traded in Hong Kong.
Removing US$2 trillion worth of Chinese ADRs will only result in capital flowing from the U.S. to Hong Kong where investors want to participate in the value and growth opportunities presented by this market.
Washington would only be handing China (and Hong Kong) a big win if it chose to go this route no matter how unjustified and unreasonable.
