Samsung Profit Surges 782% — Have Memory Stocks Even Priced It In?
Samsung's Q3 operating profit: about 107.40 trillion won, +782.5% YoY, revenue near 195 trillion won — a first quarter above 100 trillion won, beating Nvidia's record. Full results Oct. 29; it came after the U.S. close, so Wednesday's memory moves missed it: Micron +4.06% to $1,088.00, SanDisk +1.92% to $1,692.42, SK Hynix -2.36% to $178.25, Western Digital -1.37% to $405.42. Goldman sees Micron and Nvidia adding 19% and 15% of S&P 500 earnings growth this season. Bulls call it the shortage hitting the income statement; bears call nine-fold growth a peak. Different from past memory booms?
