1. They hike up prices. It may be even more expensive during these sales period. I know because I repeat purchases and I can compare what it was priced at with previous years.
2. Where overseas customers are concerned, many sellers know we're based overseas and it's tough to return parcels. So they send items that are damaged or with minor flaws. Tb has reduced its "100% refund for damaged goods" return policy to 3 days. This just means we can't buy or we'd be absorbing 100% of the risks. Some people think it's cheap enough to take the risks but $10 is still money. The refund policies used to be fairer to us overseas but no more now.
Tb used to have a 15-30 days return policy where people can try and decide. I found out many suppliers sell goods that spoil/fade/weaken etc in a couple of months after that period.
I've given and thrown away alot of stuff and didn't get any compensation.
3. Many sellers now require u to purchase an insurance cover, which states they'll compensate only if u have that cover. WTH? That's pretty ridiculous.
4. Fakes. I think we all have problems with this. The first purchase may be authentic but subsequently it may change. There's alot of risks involved. Same goes for other products. First time, it is passable. Then it is not, the next.
5. Global inflation. WTH right? Squeezing us at home and reducing the size of our pockets.
