$Microsoft(MSFT)$ I've held MSFT for a very long time, and I only check my account once in a while. Every time I look at it, I'm reminded that I may not have to worry about being homeless when I'm older.

I know Social Security benefits could potentially be reduced, so I don't want to rely on SSA alone. If you're on your own like me, it's worth thinking seriously about building your own financial security and investing for the long term.

For me, that means owning shares of companies like MSFT, NVDA, LMT, PLTR, TSM, AAPL, and VOO.

The reality is, when you're older and struggling, you can't assume someone will be there to take care of you. Planning ahead, saving, and investing can give you some security later in life.
