Trump seemed to be determined to force Iran hands by slaming tariffs on countries that trade with Iran, with China the major trade partner. With the meeting with Xi and Trump coming up soon, does Trump really wants to burn the bridge and worsen the ties between both countries even before its mended or built?

And the tariff war between US and Canada has officially started, with Mark Carney announcing 50% reciprocal tariffs after negotiations broke down. Canada has always approach this situation with good faith, but I think it has come to a crossroad whereby enough is enough, you will never be able to negotiate with a tyrant like Trump. So with all these uncertainty resurfacing again, Trump seems to be shifting his funds to “safer” equities like financial and waste disposal.

The market seems to be still absorbing the potential repercussions of the tariff war, with indexes still holding strong. However, this seems to be the calm before a storm moment. So I will suggest everyone not to be too aggressive in your trading approach. Set lower profit margins and tighter stop losses. So in case the market swing wildly on the opposite side, you wouldn’t be caught out cold.

Brent, WTI Both Top $100 — Can U.S. Stocks Hold Until CPI Cools?
Oil did the damage: Houthi forces took the Red Sea port of Mukha and moved on Bab-el-Mandeb, and Brent and WTI both cleared $100. QQQ −1.06%, SPY −0.60%, S&P −0.58%; among megacaps only Google rose, +0.61%, against Meta −1.42% and Tesla −1.16%. August PPI +0.4% MoM and 5.4% YoY beat 5.3% and accelerated from 4.7%, but core held at 0.2% and 4.6% — diesel alone jumped 24.1%. Markets briefly priced a full October hike. CPI lands 20:30 Beijing, consensus 0.4% headline, 0.2% core. Energy inflation rarely moves policy; $100 oil is a cost that stays. Trim tech first, or hedge with energy and gold?

Calling financials and waste disposal safe feels too easy. In a real risk-off tape, balance sheet quality and valuation matter way more — what multiples and debt levels are you looking at here
    • PawsAndProfits
Comparing financials/waste disposal with Tech, tech always will have higher multiples and debt levels. So Im not sure what you are implying here. [Gosh]
