Major strategic upgrade here: Ballard has completed the acquisition of GeoPura, shifting from mainly a fuel-cell manufacturer into a vertically integrated hydrogen energy solutions provider. GeoPura adds 500kW Hydrogen Power Units, green hydrogen production, logistics, and an Energy-as-a-Service model. Ballard can now capture value across a much larger part of the hydrogen chain instead of just selling fuel-cell modules. The deal strengthens its position in Europe while opening additional opportunities in North America and stationary power markets.
For me, this makes $Ballard Power(BLDP)$ significantly more interesting versus pure-play peers. If hydrogen demand accelerates, Ballard could increasingly compete for larger integrated projects alongside names such as $Plug Power(PLUG)$ , $Bloom Energy Corp(BE)$ and FCEL. This could be a real turning point for Ballard's growth story.
