$SanDisk Corp.(SNDK)$  In the AI era, this could be a surprisingly important shift.

Previously, AI basically meant GPU + HBM. But as AI inference workloads keep growing, a broader memory and storage hierarchy could become increasingly important: GPU + HBM + HBF + high-speed SSDs + high-capacity NAND.

Sandisk is also pointing in this direction. The company has noted that as KV cache expands with AI inference, data center storage requirements are rising as well.

So when comparing SNDK with Micron or SK hynix, the focus shouldn't only be that SNDK lacks HBM. The more relevant question is how far SNDK can move NAND up the AI memory hierarchy.
