$Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$ gained 3.24% Tuesday, but the more interesting story isn’t just the share-price move.
Meta has now launched its Enterprise Platform, bringing its AI models, agents and infrastructure directly to businesses and developers. The company is positioning this as a new major pillar alongside its existing advertising business.
That could make the opportunity much bigger than improving ad targeting.
Meta is effectively moving into territory dominated by companies such as Salesforce, ServiceNow and Microsoft. Its new platform includes Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code, giving businesses tools to build and deploy AI applications.
But there is an important question here: where does the revenue actually come from?
The technology is impressive, but enterprise customers usually need more than a powerful AI model. They need security, integration, governance, reliability and a clear return on investment.
That’s where the competition gets interesting. ServiceNow, for example, is already integrating AI agents across enterprise workflows and Microsoft’s ecosystem.
So I’m watching META less for the AI headlines and more for whether it can turn its enormous consumer reach and AI infrastructure into a meaningful enterprise business.
If Meta succeeds, it could potentially add another growth engine beyond advertising.
If adoption takes longer than expected, today’s enthusiasm could prove premature.
Would you view Meta’s enterprise push as a genuine new business opportunity, or is the market getting ahead of the actual monetisation?
