Everyone talks about GPUs. But who makes sure those increasingly complex chips actually work?
$Teradyne(TER)$ designs automated test equipment used to test semiconductors, memory and electronics, while also operating an advanced robotics business. In other words, it sits further down the AI hardware chain — helping test the chips and systems powering the next generation of computing.
And the numbers are getting interesting.
Teradyne reported $1.329B of Q2 2026 revenue, up 104% year over year, with Semiconductor Test generating $1.122B. The company said AI-related demand was a key driver, including strength in memory.
Now it is pushing further into the AI ecosystem, with new testing solutions aimed at next-generation memory and AI/data-centre devices. Its recently announced Magnum E2 targets memory testing demands driven by AI and high-performance computing.
That’s what makes TER interesting to me.
It’s not another GPU stock. It’s a way to look at the AI buildout from the testing and manufacturing side.
The question now is whether the explosive growth can continue — and how much of that future growth is already reflected in the share price.
👀 TER is one I’m watching closely.
Not financial advice.
