Q3 deliveries beat expectations at 486,532 vehicles, yet sales still declined year over year. The spectacular Roadster reveal showcases engineering ambition, but cannot solve mass-market pricing and competition overnight.
Tesla’s real opportunity lies in AI, robotaxis and Optimus, which could unlock new revenue streams. However, commercial success requires execution, regulatory approval and investment.
My view: the Roadster sells the dream, but earnings must pay the bills. With Chinese EV makers intensifying competition, Tesla must defend its automotive business while proving autonomy can generate profits.
Until then, Tesla remains a high-potential, high-expectation bet—not a proven AI success story. Execution matters more than another spectacular demonstration.
