$Micron Technology(MU)$ $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$ $Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$ I would argue more money is leaving the market right now than coming in. Institutions are using the media to generate or emphasize certain headlines to move the market and trip algos to get the effect they want. Looking at the chart with oil futures or /CL and IWM, the correlation was striking. The volume in IWM was massive to the downside, but not the upside. The same holds true for QQQ and SPY. It sure seems like the closer we get to the elections, the more selling at the top we get.
We have an administration fixated on oil while running on the claim it's too expensive. Fixated on diesel and all other pricing tied to oil, while claiming it's too high, even though the entire administration is heavily invested in the space.
Institutions aren't naive. They get it. So when they lighten up, it's not oil they lighten up on, it's the market, and you can tell by the volume during these moves every time the media puts out a news clip on Iran.
