$SK hynix(SKHY)$ SK Hynix rallied on Tuesday amid reports that the memory-chip maker is preparing generous shareholder-return measures alongside its Q3 2026 earnings, scheduled for Wednesday. South Korean media outlet Dong-A Ilbo reported the company is considering a special dividend of approximately KRW 16 trillion ($12 billion), potentially financed largely through the sale of its stake in Japanese memory-chip manufacturer Kioxia. SK Hynix said it would provide further details on its shareholder-return plans with its results.
The stock also got a lift from a broad overnight rebound in U.S. AI-related semiconductor shares, as Anthropic's IPO filing renewed investor confidence in sustained AI infrastructure investment. SK Hynix is expected to report record quarterly revenue of roughly KRW 96-99 trillion and operating profit above KRW 75 trillion. Full Q3 results are scheduled for release before 2:00 a.m. on October 28.
