I’d pick long-term Treasuries as the most sensitive to a genuinely dovish shift, but the 10-year yield matters more to me than the headline Fed decision.

If the Fed pauses and yields fall meaningfully, TLT should get the clearest direct benefit, while QQQ would also gain from lower discount rates. IWM could outperform if falling rates are accompanied by resilient growth and easier credit, rather than recession fears.

What would change my view? If the Fed pauses but the 10-year yield stays above 5% or climbs further, I would not interpret the pause as meaningfully dovish. For QQQ, I also want earnings and free cash flow to justify valuations rather than relying on multiple expansion. For IWM, improving credit conditions and earnings would matter more than the rate decision alone.

So my order would be: TLT for a dovish rates trade, QQQ for earnings-backed growth, and IWM only when lower financing costs come with a healthy economy.
