🐱 $Manulife (MFC) – My Value Investment Is Up 36.41%! 💰
Sometimes, the best investment opportunities are not necessarily the hottest technology stocks or the companies making headlines every day. I also like looking at established financial companies that have solid businesses, global operations and the potential to reward long-term shareholders.
Today, my Manulife (MFC) position is showing an unrealised profit of 36.41%! 📈
For me, this is a good reminder that patience and value investing can pay off. I do not always need to chase stocks that have already rallied aggressively. Sometimes, buying established businesses when valuations are more reasonable can provide an attractive opportunity.
1️⃣ Why am I making this trade now?
Manulife is an established international financial services company with businesses covering insurance, wealth and asset management.
What attracts me is its diversified business model. Insurance companies can benefit from recurring premiums, investment income and long-term demand for financial protection and retirement planning.
With an ageing population and increasing demand for retirement solutions, I believe companies like Manulife have an interesting long-term business opportunity.
I also like looking beyond the Magnificent Seven. Not every dollar needs to go into technology stocks. Financial companies can provide another source of diversification in my portfolio.
2️⃣ What’s my plan from here?
With my position currently showing a 36.41% unrealised gain, I am happy with the progress.
However, I do not automatically sell just because a stock has gone up. I want to monitor earnings, insurance business performance, investment returns and dividend sustainability.
I will also watch interest rates and market conditions because they can influence insurance companies’ investment portfolios and profitability.
My strategy is to let good investments work for me while remaining disciplined about valuation and risk.
🐱 My takeaway: Winning trades are not always about buying the next popular stock. Sometimes, boring businesses can deliver surprisingly attractive returns.
