Reddit announced on Wednesday that it banned the subreddit r/NoNewNormal, known for its anti-vax and anti-mask content, after 135 other subreddits protested the company's refusal to ban COVID-19 disinformation.
An admin post on r/Security stated that r/NoNewNormal was banned for brigading— or intruding onto discussions on other subreddits about COVID-19 and related topics. The subreddit was connected to 80 "brigades."
54 other subreddits were also "quarantined," meaning users see a warning before entering the subreddit and the subreddit's content won't be featured on the Reddit homepage. Though r/NoNewNormal has been quarantined since early August and had recieved warnings from moderators, the subreddit's behavior didn't budge.
Reddit's CEO had previously said that Reddit should be a place for open discussion, drawing criticism for allowing dangerous misinformation to spread during a pandemic, leading some of the biggest subreddits to protest.
Stock market meets internet fringe culture ⚠️
WallStreetBets exploded into the mainstream, moving from the front page of Reddit to the front page of the New York Times and nearly every other major news site. The subreddit's short-squeeze of GameStop helped shoot up the price of the video game retailer's stock captivating the minds and wallets of investors — both casual and institutional — and financial regulators.
While millions are now discovering WallStreetBets for the first time, it has been building momentum throughout the pandemic. One can trace its epic rise to a perfect storm of favorable conditions: the exponential growth of the app Robinhood and its no-fee options trading, the extreme volatility Covid-19 brought to the markets.
And it's led WallStreetBets' evolution into an unprecedented force of retail-investing financial radicalism, offering the allure of get-rich-quick gains to a rapidly expanding audience of millions.

When one believed in it, then it shall be become a step closer to becoming true. In this world, the majority have the power to alter facts and change what is false into true and what is true into false, and the minority that goes againts it will suffer. The Reddit Army is a community of people lead by catalysts to move and control the market with the power of retail investors.
Fundamentals will bring you a long way, but the danger still exist when it comes to market market manipulation.
Weaponized misinformation is a key problem shaping our Future.
Nowadays in this market, trading on meme stocks hyped by catalysts is seen as a quick buck scheme and is preferred more than to invest long term based on fundamentals.
But always remember, what goes up must come down.
Holding will keep the prices going strong, but one dump is all it takes for everyone to follow the suit.
From the Reddit Army, we learned that in this cult like world. From group work, projects, religion, politics, stocks and things that revolves around our daily life, everything can be controlled with power and the majority can set a new standard and benchmark in anything.
