Here’s another concerning metric about Carnival. Their RCD, Revenue Per Cruising Day is actually above 2019, but yet they are posting massive losses. This suggests that despite higher revenue driven by on board purchases, they aren’t getting the margins they need to be profitable. This means they need to raise prices even more. So all of this talk about these cruise addicts returning is a legitimate point but what happens when they get serious sticker shock? And another part of their voyage that they’ll be getting hurt on is the airfare to the port city. Domestic flight costs are up 50% yoy! Cruising is not going away, but it is not for the middle class anymore.$Carnival(CCL)$
