$Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$ is reportedly in talks to build a major new fabrication facility in Asia, as part of measures to address the global chip shortage. As its new $12 billion plant in Arizona is delayed, TSMC is said to be having preliminary talks with Singapore's Economic Development Board about building a new facility there, home to many processor manufacturers.
Will Singapore succeed in attracting TSMC to add to its growing semiconductor industry?
IMHO, Singapore stand a very good chance as there are various attractive attributes that other countries in the region does not offer. Having a fabrication facility in Singapore is definitely more profitable than having one in USA.
