This is interesting, did they use MRNA technology?
I've read that the smallpox vaccine gave protection for monkeypox, but with smallpox being eradicated, no one gets the vaccine (no longer produced) and therefore no one is indirectly protected.
The alternative to making a new MRNA vaccine for monkeypox would then be to improve the smallpox vaccine, but I'm not informed enough to know if it can be done.
