625 max. My thinking is it's silly not to have exposure to Tesla as it's at the EV forefront & countries around the world are phasing out ICE vehicles over the next 10 years. However, rising inflation &interest rate, Covid lockdown in China, the Russia-Ukraine war & a looming recession are comingat Tesla in all directions so during this time it's best to be prudent & only buy Tesla when it's undervalued/ not trading at high multiples. We don't know when the market would bottom out so this will help us stay invested in Tesla while not being dragged too much into the red & having a bigger upside when the market finally recovers. Also, while Tesla bulls are convinced Tesla is far ahead of other automakers in making EVs, do remember Elon has no plan to make an EV for the mass market & most people do not need all the bells & whistles that comes with a Tesla, they don't need the best/ biggest battery (especially not so when governments help make charging points more accessible), they don't need FSD (especially when it's not even safe to use yet), what they need is a value-for-money car that does it job & doesn't look too bad. So while Tesla may reportedly hold 20% market share now, whether it is able to maintain that 5-10 years later is really anybody's guess. As for within the luxury sector, the Mercedes etc. still have lots of fans, afterall these people are after the status rather than the technology. Perhapsif the luxury automakers cannot maintain the allure around their brand that's when Tesla will really get a strong foothold in the sector. But I personally don't think that will happen in the next 10 yearsas the baby boomers are still around to support those brands. I should also mention that while Elon has been a great visionaire, he needs to clean up his act before it comes & bite him in the butt & Tesla gets affected. Lastly, I went through a painful experience on the crypto space recently & learnt a few more lessons about investing & also myself & one lesson in particular is don't be a fan boy who is so overly convicted that you are blind to (potential) problems. So only buy low & don't concentrate all your investment in Tesla. That's myadvice to myself. And something for others to ponder over.
