Wait for more pain in the streets. Mr market is on your side now.//@HelenJanet:

In recent months, companies such as Olam Group Ltd ,Yangzijiang Shipbuilding and LHN Limited are undertaking spin-offs.

The author has given 3 key reasons why companies undertake spin-offs:

1. To raise additional funds that can be used to drive further growth of the business.

2.Spinning off a division also helps to crystallise its value better, as investors can now view the spun-out business as a separate entity.

3. each business can then embark on its separate growth strategies independent of one another, thus streamlining the corporate strategies and decision-making processes for each management team.

Shareholders of the original entity usually receive free shares of the spun-out businesses.

YZJ stock price has dropped to half after spin off, so I am not sure the spinning off of companies is really helping the shareholders or not.

From these few reasons, the spin-off will be significant.

I don't think the spin-off will help this company much.
