Can explain option in simple term to newbie never used option before? Premium is lost if don't exercise?

    Unfortunately I find it quite difficult to really understand options too, so don’t know how to explain better. But online materials or the Tiger Options Hub can be helpful for beginners like us :)

    Buying options is basically buying the right to buy or sell the stock at a certain price… If you buy an option but do not exercise it, then yes, the premium you paid for the option is lost.
