The books that helped me in my investment.

in celebration of World Book Day, I thought that I would share 2 books that helped me in my investment journey.... pls take note that my bias is leaned towards W.B. and so naturally I would recommend Books related to him.

1. The essays of Warren Buffet: Lessons for Investors and Managers

To me, this book is a regular refresher in case I forgotten about some rules to navigate in the unpredictable market conditions. Why re-invent the wheel when someone has already established some of the more common market sense to maximize your chances in the stock market?

And some of the gems inside .... find an outstanding biz at a sensible price and not a mediocre biz at bargain price -> to this gem, I am able to demonstrate good investment judgment (using certain toolsand methodologies) that generates good profit for me on paper or when I sell some of it.

.... time is a friend of a good biz and enemy of a lousy biz -> to this gem, I find that a lot of investors who fail to have patience Plus locating a good biz ends up short changing or burning themselves

and I realized I have more to write lol... but let me intro the 2nd book

2. Ikigai: the Jap secrets to a long and happy life

And you may wonder wth has this got to do with investing.... imho.... lots.

The gems I would like to share....

Keeping a positive attitude and emotional awareness -> to this gem, I have experienced lots of emotional reactions to the stock market (most of you would know what I mean) but reminding yourself and practicing meditation helps to still the mind and not let it wander about like a unleashed monkey. It really does keep me calm and focused more of the truth of the stock price than reacting to the ups and downs.

.... get enough sleep everyday is another piece of gem but many people struggle to "keep up with". This is especially so when we are trading US market at night and daytime having a job. To make things worse losing sleep because of a bear market, and this book does help to keep our minds steady and to remind on having the discipline to have a regular sleep which would result in more productiveness and alertness.

.... and this last gem... form close bonds with the local community... -> I see this as in the case of our vibrant Tiger community, sharing knowledge and making friends and growing wealth together, and even if I should be exagarated, staying together on this Tiger platform through thick and thin, ups and downs.

If you have read up to this line, I am truly grateful for you investing that time and I hope that the books above may also help you in your investing journey.

Knowledge is wealth! Keep reading brothers and sisters!
