When to sell your shares?

My friends and I discussed this during the National Day period. Most suggest to sell thebest stocks they are holding and keep the worst performing ones. Others suggest to cut losses and keep the best performing ones.

I treat this similar to a job.

If I am a boss, will I let go of my best staff ifhis salary reaches 20% of his original pay? And I continue to keep the worst performingstaff just because their salaries are the lowest?

For me. I rather sell off the worst performingshares I am currently holding to cut losses. For stocks posting gains repeatedly is due to their own strategies for the next 5 to 10 years.

Rule of thumb is not to be attached to a stock emotionally. If wants to hold long term and sleep well at night, go for ETF.
