Adapting to local markets!
Uber Foods Exits India.
How many times have we heard this statement from in market teams. How many times has the same been ignored by the global and regional teams. While I am sure both sides have their reasons. Not adapting to local market needs will mean only one thing. Perish. Uber has been a poster child for this. The came into Asia in a big way. While the concept was understood and people were willing to adapt. The companies did not adapt. The result: Companies like Grab, Gojek, Zomato have all eaten their lunch!
In the XaaS space. The barriers of entry are lower, global monoliths that don't adapt to local market conditions will see a clone with market savvy take them out. Its is not only in B2B the same exists in B2C.
Grab is doing well in adapting to local market.
