The strengthening of the US$ is a double sword. The Fed intends to curb the high inflation while also worrying about the recession. Most developed countries also follow suit to raise interest in strengthening their currencies. While it could benefit from cheap import goods, it may hurt the exporters' businesses. It all boils down to the wisdom of the chief monetary of the country to strike a balance.
