Well, Elon Musk just unfollowed KoGuan Leo, a Singaporean who is the third largest individual shareholder of Tesla on Twitter. What happened?
KoGuan Leo started off as a retail investor and amassed his fortune through investing in Tesla from 2019 and has sort of become the voice and also acting as a big brother of Tesla retail investors.
When Tesla stock price was falling this year, he tweeted he has been buying up shares in an attempt to shield retail investors from falling knives.
A supporter for TESLA buyback programme
Recently KoGuan Leo has been louder is his demand for TESLA to declare a share backback programme arguing a $15 billion buy back programme to prop tesla share price back up
In a series of tweet aimed at Elon Musk and Tesla board of directors , he questioned the rational of not announcing a buyback programme especially with tesla generating increased amount of free cash flow
Conclusion
What do you think of Elon Musk's decision to unfollow KoGuan Leo? Do you think Tesla needs to buyback their shares currently?
I personally think it would be wise in this market conditions, TESLA probably will have $25 billion free cash flow by end of the year after all capital expenditure. A $5 billion cashback programme wouldn't seem far fetched or overzealous
It would also aligned themselves with other major companies like APPLE, AMAZON and NVIDIA that declared stock buyback programme earlier.
