How Much Does It Cost for a Model Y with a Seven-Seat Interior?

Tesla Model Y is offered with the option of a seven-seat interior layout, which has had its pricing and configurations adjusted over time.

Today, Model Y with a seven-seat interior starts at a price point of $52,990. *As of May 1st, 2023.

Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive is offered at $49,990, configured by default with a five-seat interior.

A seven-seat interior is available as a $3,000 option, which saw a $1,000 price drop in the past week.

Only Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive is configurable with a seven-seat interior: Model Y All-Wheel Drive and Model Y Performance don’t offer the option, primarily for the reasoning of additional weight slightly impacting efficiency and performance.

The seven-seat interior on Model Y adds third-row seating, fitting two in the back with Tesla’s ‘Easy Entry’. The second row is modified to offer sliding seats with adjustable seat-backs with added USB-C charging for the third row, and both the second and third rows can fold flat for cargo storage with electronic fold-flat releases in the trunk.

It’s possible Tesla may offer a seven-seat interior on other Model Y configurations, further lowering the cost of entry.

Note that a six-seat interior layout is exclusively available on Model X, which also offers a seven-seat interior at an effective starting price of $100,990.

Seven-seat interiors are popular for large families, and the Kia Telluride has become a breakout hit as a result.

Thus, more affordable options for the coveted seven-seat layout should positively impact demand for Tesla’s most popular vehicle.
